Stay with the task that's on, in short rounds
You tap Focus on the Now card, and the task is split into work and break rounds that fit the time set aside for it. Breaks start on their own and your plan stays put.
Today
Thursday 3 Dec
Round 2 of 3 · 10:00–11:15
An example from the app's screen.
How it works
- 1
While a task is on, tap Focus · 25-min round on the Now card in Today.
- 2
The card counts down the round; when it ends, the break starts on its own. Tap Pause to take a pause, or Stop to leave it.
- 3
When the task is done, tap Done. For longer rounds, pick 50 min + 10 min break in Settings → Look & language → Focus rounds.
What it does
- Splits the task's time into rounds; the last round gets shorter or longer so it ends with the task.
- Doesn't move the plan when you pause: when you resume, the time left is split into rounds again.
- Lets you know when a round or break ends; with the app open, a short sound plays instead. These don't count toward the daily limit.
- Holds Brizemi's other notifications until the round ends.
- Shows one line when you close the day: "Focused for 1 hr 15 min".
What it doesn't do
- Show on calendar events, routines, or a task with less than 10 minutes left.
- Keep scores, streaks or comparisons.
- Hold back Don't-miss alarms; they still ring during a round.
Sitting down to a long task is hard when you don't know how long you have for it. Most timers keep their own clock and the plan knows nothing about it: a round runs over, the break slips, the next thing starts late. Focus works the other way round. It takes the task's time from your plan and fits the rounds into it, so the last round ends when the task does. You don't have to give up your plan to focus. The screen shows only the minutes left in this round, and at the end of the day one line: how long you focused. No scores, no streaks, no comparisons.

Questions people ask
Does Focus move my plan?
No. Rounds fit inside the time set aside for the task, and the last one gets shorter or longer to end with it. If you pause and resume, the time left is split again, and the next things stay where they are.
Can I change the round length?
Yes. In Settings → Look & language → Focus rounds, pick 25 min + 5 min break or 50 min + 10 min break. If you need more time, the card also has Need a bit more.
Is Focus paid?
No. Focus in the app is always free. Only seeing the countdown on the Lock Screen comes with Pro: in the Live Activity on iPhone, in the "What's on now" notification on Android.
