Steps
iPhone
- Open iPhone Settings → Apps → Brizemi.
- Turn on Microphone and Speech Recognition.
- Go back to Brizemi and tap the mic again.
- If you see "Getting voice ready (one-time)…", iOS is downloading the model for your language; stay online and wait.
- If it says "Voice needs a one-time download", try again once you're online.
Android
- Make sure your phone runs Android 12 or later; voice needs it.
- Open Android Settings → Apps → Brizemi → Permissions → Microphone and allow it.
- Go back to Brizemi and tap the mic again.
- If you see "Getting voice ready (one-time)…", Android is downloading the on-device model for your language; stay online.
- If it says "Voice isn't available for this language yet" or "Voice isn't ready on this phone yet", your phone has no on-device recognition for that language; type instead.
Speech recognition runs only on the phone; your voice is never recognised in the cloud. That's why the phone may need to download the model for your language once. After that it works offline too.
- "Microphone is off. Type instead, or turn it on in Settings." means the microphone permission is off.
- If you see "The microphone didn't start. Try again, or type.", tap once more; if it still doesn't start, type for now.
- The speech language follows Brizemi's language: Settings → Look & language.
Even if voice never works, you can use all of Brizemi: type the same things in the same place, and the cards are made the same way.
