Reminders come late or not at all on Android

Short answer

On Android, reminders need the notification permission and the Alarms & reminders permission to arrive right on time. If battery saving restricts Brizemi, reminders can come late.

Steps

  1. In Brizemi, open Settings → Notifications. If it says "Notifications are off, so I can't remind you.", tap Turn on notifications.
  2. If you see Reminders on time on the same page, tap Allow and turn on Alarms & reminders for Brizemi.
  3. If you use Don't miss, tap the Alarm permission · Off row on the same page and allow it.
  4. In Android Settings → Apps → Brizemi → Notifications, check that the Upcoming blocks, Day check-ins and Don't-miss alarms channels are on.
  5. On the same app page, set battery use to Unrestricted (the name differs by phone).

Without the Alarms & reminders permission, Android may hold reminders back; Brizemi then reminds you a few minutes late. Once you allow it, reminders come right on time.

  • Brizemi doesn't ask to be exempted from battery saving on its own. Some phones restrict background apps strictly; if reminders still come late, step 5 usually fixes it.
  • When the phone restarts, Brizemi sets its reminders again by itself.
  • How many reminders you get depends on How often: Calm sends up to 3 a day, Normal 6, Frequent 10. On Calm, not every block gets a reminder.
  • Don't-miss alarms are set with the phone's own alarm system. If the alarm permission is off, a regular notification comes instead.
