How do I back up and restore?

Short answer

Brizemi makes a backup on the first open of each day and keeps the last 7 on your phone. In Settings → Backup & data you can back up now, save a backup to a file and restore it.

  5. Confirm "Restore this backup?" with Restore.

Android

  1. Open Settings → Backup & data; the Backups list shows the latest backups.
  2. To make one right away, tap Back up now.
  3. To keep one outside the app, tap Save to Files next to a backup; pick a folder on Android's save screen.
  4. To restore, tap Restore next to a backup, or Restore from a file for a .json file you saved.
  5. Confirm "Restore this backup?" with Restore.

A backup holds the plans for the past 90 and next 90 days, their tasks, your repeats, learned lengths and settings. Calendar events aren't included; they're already in your calendar.

  • Restoring merges: the backup's days and tasks come back as they were, and anything you added later stays. Brizemi backs up today first, so you can go back.
  • If a backup comes from a newer version, update Brizemi first.
  • The backups on your phone are deleted along with the app. Save the one you want to keep to a file.
  • There's no account, so there's no sync; your backup lives on your phone and in the file you chose.
  • Backing up and restoring are free.
