A school morning with kids

For a parent who does the school run and then starts work: the drop-off stays fixed, there's room before you leave, and you go into the call prepared.

Brain dumpToday
School run at 7:45.
Make the packed lunches, Ella has art today so pack her coloured pencils too.
Sign the permission slip for the trip, it has to go back today.
Work call at 9:30, online, an hour.
Go over my slides before that, half an hour.
Unload the dishwasher when I'm back.
Pop to the shop at lunch for bread and fruit.
Pick up my jacket from the dry cleaner's.
School pickup at 3:30.

Paste it into Dump in Brizemi, or say it in your own words. Change the times and things to fit you.

  • Routine

A sample day. Brizemi builds yours around your own calendar, routines and the time of day.

How to use it

  1. 1

Copy the dump, or rewrite it with your own things.

  2. 2

Open Dump in Brizemi and paste; the things become cards. Sort them into Must, Could and Park.

  3. 3

Brizemi builds the day around your calendar, with breathing room in between. When the day slips, tap Rescue.

Your first plan when you set up the app is free. After that, building a day from a dump comes with Pro; on the free plan you can add things one by one and drop them into open gaps. Rescue is always free.

Tips for this day

  • Add the school run as a repeat on school days (Pro); Brizemi keeps that time fixed and fits everything else around it.
  • For the one thing that can't slip, like the permission slip, turn on Don't miss: a loud alarm goes off at its time. Up to three a day, Pro.
  • If the morning slips, tap Rescue: keep the essentials, and the call and the slides stay while the dishwasher and the shop get parked.
  • Plan tomorrow the evening before and wake up to a ready morning (Pro); on the free version, pasting the dump into Dump in the morning works too.

Why this day is built this way

The hard part of a school morning isn't the number of jobs. It's that the time you leave the house doesn't move. This morning keeps only two short jobs before the door: the packed lunches and the slip that has to go back today. Then come twenty minutes of breathing room for shoes, the forgotten book and last-minute questions.

The school run and the work call have fixed times, and the plan is built between those two points. Going over the slides sits right before the call, when it will still be fresh. The dishwasher and the shop are Could things; if the morning runs long, they are the first to be parked. The dry cleaner's didn't fit today, so it waits in Parked; you can stop by on the way back from pickup.

If you have this day often

If this is a day you have often: when it goes well, tap "Save this day as a template" in Close the day, and next time it sets up in one tap (Day templates, Pro).

How to make a realistic daily plan that survives the day

Questions people ask

What if my kids start school at different times?

Say both times in your dump: "little one at 7:45, big one at 8:15". Brizemi keeps both fixed and puts short jobs in the gap between them.

Can I use it in the school holidays?

Yes. Take the school times out of the dump and leave the rest. Brizemi builds the morning around your own things and your calendar.

When the day slips, rescue it in one tap

Brizemi turns what's on your mind into a realistic day and rebuilds the rest when the day falls apart. Rescue is always free.
