When the day slips

What is breathing room, and how do I change it?

Short answer

Breathing room is the extra time Brizemi leaves in your day, because things often take longer than you think. You pick Less, Usual or More, for today or for every day.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Day & plan → Breathing room. While you shape a plan, the Breathing room row opens the same sheet.
  2. Pick Less, Usual or More. The sheet shows what changes: how much room you get and whether something goes to Parked.
  3. Choose Just today or Always.
  4. Tap Apply to today (or Apply).
  5. To change a single gap, tap it on Today and pick a length in This gap.
Level Day full at most Extra time per hour of work
Less 80% +15 min
Usual (default) 70% +30 min
More 60% +45 min, wider gaps

A length or time you set yourself never grows, and must-dos never go to Parked because of breathing room. In the same sheet, Gaps · every day sets your own gaps between tasks and around meetings. After a change, Undo takes it back.

Learned lengths

With Learn from your days on (Settings → Day & plan), Brizemi learns from what finishes and what runs long, only on your phone, and adjusts how much room each kind of thing gets. Fitted to you shows what it changed; you can forget a row or turn learning off. New plans use these learned lengths, and planning after your first plan is part of Pro.
