Notifications, alarms and FocusPro

How do the midday check-in and morning reminders work?

Short answer

With Pro, I ask "How's the day going?" once at midday, and on a morning with no plan I remind you to set up the day together. You choose their times in Settings → Notifications.

Steps

  1. On Today, tap the gear icon at the top right and open Settings → Notifications.
  2. Under Midday check-in, pick Automatic, a time or Off.
  3. Under Morning: set up the day, pick Automatic (the start of your day) or a time between 06:00 and 11:00.
  4. When the check-in comes, tap On track, Running late or Bin the afternoon.

These two rows show in Settings only while Pro is on.

Midday check-in: it comes only on a planned day, when something is still open after the time you picked. On track is enough; the app doesn't open. Running late and Bin the afternoon open Rescue. If you don't answer, I ask once more an hour later; if neither gets an answer, I send nothing else that day. Until you answer or open the app, the afternoon's block notifications wait.

Morning: on a morning with no plan, I ask "Want a doable day?"; if your calendar has something, I add the first appointment and the first gap. If you don't open the app for a while, a calm "Today's a fresh page." comes on day 3 and day 10. These are part of Pro too.

The "Good morning" summary on a planned day doesn't need Pro. On a day with a status, none of these come.
