Todoist alternative: Brizemi plans your day, not your list
Todoist is a strong task list; Brizemi is a plan for today. You say or type what's on your mind, and Brizemi builds a realistic day around the fixed points in your calendar, with breathing room in between. When the day slips, one tap rescues the rest of it. If projects, teams and your computer matter most, stay with Todoist; if your list is long but your day never looks like it, try Brizemi.
The difference in short
In Todoist, tasks live in projects and lists. You decide which task goes into which hour; with Pro you drag tasks onto a calendar layout and give them a duration. When the day slips, you move what's left yourself: drag it, change its date, or send everything with a past date to a new date at once with Reschedule. The hours of your day aren't rebuilt for you.
Brizemi starts from the other end. First comes the day: your meetings, the school run, the commute. What you say or type turns into cards. You sort them into Must, Could and Park, and Brizemi places what fits into the open time. What doesn't fit waits in Parked. When the day slips, you tap Rescue and pick one of three ways: keep the essentials, a lighter day, or move it to tomorrow. You see the new day first, and one tap undoes it.
What Todoist does well
Todoist is the right tool for a lot of people, and for good reasons:
- Natural-language Quick Add. Type one sentence with a date, a repeat, a project, a label and a priority, and Todoist sorts it all out.
- Adding by voice. Ramble turns what you say into tasks, in 38 languages.
- It runs everywhere. Web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, Android and watches, all in sync.
- Structure. Projects, sections, labels, filters, priorities, and projects you share with others.
- Flexible repeats and more than 80 integrations.
Who should switch to Brizemi
- Your list is long, but your day never looks like it.
- You're tired of fitting tasks into hours by hand every morning.
- When the day slips, you'd rather have the rest of today rebuilt around your calendar in one tap than pick new dates yourself.
- Your attention wanders easily, and a long list feels heavy.
- You want everything on your phone, with no account.
- You'd rather pay once than subscribe.
Who should stay with Todoist
- You work on a computer or the web and need your tasks in sync everywhere. Brizemi has no web or Windows app, and no sync between devices today.
- You share projects with other people. Brizemi is for one person.
- You manage hundreds of tasks with projects, labels and filters.
- You rely on connections to email, your browser or other apps.
- Karma and streaks keep you going. Brizemi has no points and no streaks.
You can also use both: the long list stays in Todoist, today's plan lives in Brizemi.

How to move your list today
There is no automatic import from Todoist today. Brizemi doesn't connect to Todoist or sign in to your account. Here is what works now:
- Don't move everything. Pick what matters for the next few days. The long list can stay in Todoist as an archive for a while.
- Say or type it during setup. The first brain dump and your first planned day are free. Say the things you picked, or type or paste them one per line. Brizemi makes up to 15 cards from one dump and builds your first day; what doesn't fit waits in Parked.
- Add the rest one by one. Typing things into Parked or today, one at a time, is free.
- Share with Pro. If Todoist lets you share the text of a task or a list, pick Brizemi in the Share menu. Up to 15 things land in Parked per share. On iPhone you can also share screenshots of your list (up to 5 at a time); the text is read on the phone and the images aren't kept.
- Apple Reminders on iPhone. If your things are also in Apple Reminders, "Bring from Reminders" turns them into cards (Pro).

How a day starts in Brizemi
8:30 in the morning. You say: “Finish the proposal, call the dentist, call Mom, groceries tonight.” The 10:00 meeting is already in your calendar. Brizemi makes four cards; you put the proposal under Must and the groceries under Could. The plan forms around the meeting, with breathing room in between: the proposal first, the two calls after the meeting, groceries in the evening. If the meeting runs long, Rescue rebuilds the afternoon, and anything that no longer fits waits in Parked.

Questions people ask
Can Brizemi fully replace Todoist?
Not for everything. For long project lists, shared projects or working from a computer, Todoist is the better fit. Brizemi focuses on today: it turns what's on your mind into a realistic day and rescues it when it slips. Some people use both.
Can I import my Todoist tasks into Brizemi?
There is no automatic import today. During setup you can say or type the things that matter, and adding things one by one is free after that. With Pro you can share text from another app into Brizemi, and on iPhone a screenshot too.
Do I need an account for Brizemi?
No. There is no account, and your plans stay on your phone. That also means there is no sync between devices today; a new phone gets your plans from a backup.
Does Brizemi have a free trial?
There is no trial, but today is free: Rescue, Today, Parked and your first planned day are always free. In the US, Pro is $24.99 a year, $4.99 a month or $34.99 once.
